Flag Raising at Iwo Jima

A painting that my Dad recently did that he gave me yesterday...

Done from the famous WWII photograph. This is the second time my Dad has painted this.

I also have the first one he did, which is smaller than the one above:

Those are both beautiful, NAA! You have a very talented Dad. Thank you for showing this historical representation!

bubba'd No5 from EE. Barrel looks pretty good and action is very nice but someone cut the rear sight ears off and removed the FH/FSB as well as d&t'd the side of the reciever. Needed a mag from the parts bin. Took it out to run 10 rds thru it to loosen up the fouling in the bore. No muzzle flash and surprisingly little muzzle blast from the 18.5" bbl with Winchester 180 gr. Recoil was stout but not excessive. I wouldnt want to have to fire one all day long however.

I picked up a VERY nice 1935 Tikka Finn M/27. I've actually already got a Tikka M/27 with the popsicle stick nosecap, but at $160 it didn't make sense to me NOT to buy it!

Thanks guys. The bore is quite good actually. In fact this one is nice enough that I'm starting to think my old one might be surplus to my needs!

My Jungle Carbine I got off of the EE is scheduled to be delivered today, so I'll post some pics when it finally shows up. :D

Edit:

(the brown you see in these first two is grease and oil, not rust)

So I finally got my SVT40 out yesturday. Man that was fun. I had the gas system set to 1.1 and was going to work my way up until it ran smoothly, but it ran perfectly at 1.1.
