Can anyone tell me if those Jungle Carbine "conversion kits" are available in Canada? I have a badly bubbaed No4 and one of those kits might improve its looks.
I've never seen one advertised in Canada. Numrich and I belive Sarco down in the US sell them and they are easy to buy. I am just now rebuilding one and ordered the flash hider and repo butt plate assembly from Numrich. I make my own furniture from the #4 stuff I have laying around.
I converted a sporterized #4 into a jungle carbine. The flash hider I got from Numrich, the wood furniture and the correct rear sight I found on ebay.
It turned out pretty nice.
do you turn the barrels down on those No4 conversions where they come out of the wood? i have an original, and the barrel seems much closer in diameter to a No 1. just trying to picture it in my head, thats all.
numerich cost me about $40 shipping on my No 1 fore end & rear hand guard. might cost you less or more cause you live on the rock
Yes,after shortening the barrel and crowning the muzzle in the lathe I had to machine it down somewhat in order for the flash hider to fit.
Once the flash hider was installed on the barrel I drilled the two holes and pinned it securely.
I've got the correct flash hider (new) for the No4 conversion. No need to turn barrel. Cut & crown, then install flash hider. Looks like the real deal especially if you replace the wood. PM if your interested in this. Ron
