jungle carbine No. 5 mk I ROF (F) 9/45

I cant find anywhere the op mentioned he brought it from a gunshop called "the Factory" or that he brought it from someone who worked in a factory & thats where he picked it up.

I went back to the OP, I should have looked closer. Thanks for being so polite about my mistake.

I have a No5 with a stamped rear sight as well. It is only marked for 800yds. There isn't a Mark no stamped on it anywhere. I thought it may be similar. It looks like the one you have in your pic.

the rear sight is "wrong" its stamped MK III, but the stamped steel sight looks like a patern match as to the direction the rifle was going with thin it out idea

Quite right, that sight has the wrong graduations & so is for a No4 but not all No5 rear sights were the machined type, there was also a pressed steel type similar to the one fitted above but graduated to 800.

The stamped sight is pretty cool! Is it a replacement, the finish doesn't match the rifle?

I don't think the finish of any of the sights fits any of the rifles but in answer to your question, yes it is a replacement, i changed it out so i would have all 3 of the different sights (that i know of) fitted to the No5s, the sight on the right is the early sight with the small battle aperture fitted to my 4/44 Fazakerley No5
