I bought this little gem today. All #s match, including the mag, and the bore is VG. That's about all I know about it other than the fact that it's chambered for 303British.

What's the deal with the green paint, and the stock markings, etc?

Any and all info on this rifle would be of interest. :)

Maybe the experts can fill in the blanks on the details of this rifle .......... please!

Now that rifle has character!

I have never seen a JC with the paint before now. I do have a No 7 bayonet that has some of that same paint though :D

Ok,
I believe your magazine is a replacement. Fazakerley elector-engraved the serial number on the bottom of the magazine in the same manner as the receiver and bolt (not stamped). Is the serial number also stamped on the bottom of the fore-end just below the cap?

The magazine is definitely stamped, but the receiver and bolt have both been engraved as mentioned.

There is no serial # on the forend below the cap.

What do the painted #s on the stock represent?
