i know exactly what you mean. i dont think they fit anyone properly. I have large hands and have trained my hand on the stock to be in a "comfortable" position..... but in all reality, its not. i think as soon as i can afford a new stock, its coming off. That, or im gonna modify this stock a whole shatload. Ive been keeping an eye out on the EE to see how much they are selling for. Seems to me that they are worth about 300 bucks.

I have also pondered the idea of modifying the stock, but I was not sure what was under the surface.
I like the look of the Bell and Carlson Medalist stock. They look sweet. But I have not found a place that I can try one out to see if it fits me right. I guess I'll just keep on looking around. Someone has to have one.
Just sondering, what stocks were you looking at replacing it to??

The stock on the back end there is all hollow under the shell. kinda sucks but thats why they are so front heavy. You can take the buttpad off and put some fill in there to make it a bit more heavy, but its heavy enough as is. Andd taking the buttpad off is a whole nother problem in itself.

I was looking at the McMillian ADJ HTG cause my rifle is mainly a hunting rifle and not so much of a bench beast.

Hmmm... Guess Im the odd one out. I actually like the palm swell, took me a while to get used to but it puts my hand in the same place everytime. I have huge hands though, seems to work well for me.

I really like the palm swell on the HS stocks. Lets my trigger finger go straight back.

I have the same muzzle brake sitting on my desk. It'll be going on a 338 LPM. A buddy of mine has it on his, and it works very well. Of course the rifle is also heavy as heck so that probably plays a major role as well. :D.

Well I made one kinda like I made for that savage, but when the bolt came back it hits. So now I'm thinking of putting on one of those Karson cheek pieces. But I have not found one yet. Do you have any experience with these?? Some help would be nice. thanks.

Just go buy some kydex and make your own. You are gonna have to drill holes in the stock and it is hollow so it's pretty easy. M14doctor on here is currently waiting for some hardware for his cheek pieces. Ment for m14 but I'm sure it would fit our stocks. Forming kydex is pretty easy actually. Google kydex cheek pieces and look for one on The High Road forums. Tells you exactly what to do.
