Hello,
First off, I know this is a silly idea. So I wont talk much and get straight to the point.

The Sig arms Classic Green and other variants (CQB, Carbine, etc). Now, we all know that the SIG SG55X series is prohibited and so are their variants. Ahum. but the Classic green made it in.

Now, why hasnt anybody thought about contacting the IZHMASH factory* in russia, and ask for a AK-101 but call it: Red Russian. or something like that? pretty much just like the SIG Blue Star.

Why would this not work?

PS. i know its silly, its just a thought I had today coming back from work.

If your trying to figure this out, google is your friend. Canadians are allowed the TSE imported Swiss Arms ones for the same reason the Americans are allowed the Sigs, Conversely they are not allowed the Canadian Variants...they look similar, but are based on different earlier models. Just because you put an IMB sticker on your Mac, its still a Mac...or something to that effect.

Yeah but your missing the point.

whats the difference between the SIG PE90 and the SG-550?

"The firearms of the designs commonly known as the SG-550 rifle and SG-551 carbine, and any variants or modified versions of them."

You need to do a little more research on this subject as you have a lot of the details confused. The Swiss Arms rifles are nothing to do with the 550 series, hence the reason they aren't prohib.

Also, for the most part, anything Izmash makes will be deemed a variant, as they are.

You should just be happy you can buy a CZ858, not a variant of an AK and no legal reason it should be prohib, but reasoning isn't usually what the government is known for.
