I have been looking for a Remington 700 in 308 for awhile waiting until I can find/afford the perfect one. I do not hunt, but I love shooting and that is the gun my research has informed me would be great for a person who wants to go shoot targets accurately at a distance for a fair price.(might go shooting once a month so no need to break the bank)

The question I have is, why is everyone selling them? Every second ad right now is for a Remington 700 in 308. I am hoping that it is because they have been really happy with the rifle, but they want to step it up, and step up the price range.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You've made a fine choice in paring down your selection. There's a lot of them on the market because they are a very popular. Pick one you like and have at it!:d

The reason I sold my 5r was that I wanted a better higher quality rifle. For 2200$ spent on a 5r plus cadex chassis and bipod getting 3/4 moa groups first trip out. Couldn't have been happier, really learned a lot thanks to that rifle.

How it first looked.

How it looked after new scope/mount
