I just wanted to share my recent experience with Vortex, definitely STILL #1 in Customer service. I have owned several Vortex products, ranging from very cheap to very $$$ and I've loved every single one. Recently I bought another Viper, a PST 6-24x50. The problem; after I bought it, the retailer could no longer find the box for it. They figured a different scope was accidentally sold in the incorrect box. I got all of the stuff that should have came in the box from a different box they had, I believe it was for an HST perhaps?
Either way I now had a new PST without the correct box...no big deal right?!?! Except I think I am just weird like that, and I like to have the proper boxes on the shelf...If the optic (or other parts for that matter) need to come off of the rifle, it's nice to have the box on the shelf to store them in, versus having parts just scattered around. I also didn't have the correct manual.
I emailed Vortex, explained this to customer service, and I included my shipping information at the end of the email looking for a quote to potentially purchase just the box and have it shipped to me. Low and behold, a couple days ago a new box shows up in the mail, filled with the correct manuals, extra goodies like stickers and a replacement battery as they weren't sure if I would have gotten one from the other scope box....All on their dime.
I realize this is a small gesture, but it speaks volumes about the kind of service they provide to their customers and the fact that they always seem to go above and beyond to help and support in whatever way they can. I would have gladly paid the $20 or $30 it would have cost for an empty box and shipping, but I was very impressed when it just showed up on it's own. Cheers Vortex! Definitely more business coming from me in the future.
