On boxing day I ordered a 10/22 clone from SFRC online. Regular price was $274.95 but on sale at $214.95 (22%off) plus they had a 10% deal that day so the grand total shipped to the door was $241.23. I new 10/22 clone or not for $240 is not bad at all. As for the gun itself, almost the same but different front and rear sights. No flip up rear sight which sucks but I dig the front sight better than the stock Ruger. As all 10/22 the wood stock feels a bit bulky but that's only my opinion. It came with a Butler Creek clear magazine as well as the usual mounting rail for the receiver. I'll clean it up and take it out for a shoot in the next couple days and run a few different types of ammo through it. I will write about performance and how it looks internally in another post after I test it out. So far though, I am pleased with it for what I paid.

Awesome, so if you see any aftermarket barrels, please post the info.
The main reason why I didn't jump on the RIA band wagon is the lack of aftermarket barrels compared to the 10/22.
My standard 10/22 to my house was $300. There are 10/22 out there, you just need to make some calls.
Hope you have fun with your new gun!

I'm actually curious as to why we are getting these rifles before they are available in the US. Rock Island is Armscors USA branch basically, and for some reason these are not listed or available there.

I wonder if the out of spec barrel/receiver dimensions caused them to not even bother with the US market?

It seems kind of odd to copy a rifle and then change a fundamental thing like the receiver hole. I could think of a couple things I would change before that....last shot hold open to start but what do I know. I am happy with the price I paid regardless of its faults. I needed a cheap semi for rabbits and I didn't want to pay full price for a real Ruger. I've had both 10/22 and Remington 597's and I went with this because of the folding stock and flush mags that are available. I also wanted to give Rock Island a try, see how the quality is. I can't tell you how many times I have almost bought this:

I was happy that a clone was coming out because there was that stupid shortage last year on 10/22s, but $274 regular price? Aren't the Ruger 10/22s $265? Leverarms has them in stock for that much, I picked up mine from Wholesale Sports for $249 I think.

And this clone is more of a "reimagining" than a clone isn't it? Anyway, interested to hear how this one runs.

Yes my 10/22 from a bc store was $249 + shipping/tax = $285ish I just round up to $300.
If the RIA gun was less than $200 or had the same barrel as the ruger, I'd jump on one.
I wonder just how many people buy one thinking its a clone only to find out barrels arent swappable?
Only time will tell just how good these new guns are.

I paid $239 or $249 as well for my first 10/22 from my local gun store so I agree that they are over priced. But like I said, I paid $242 after taxes and shipping plus I wanted to try something from RIA. I couldn't find much on them for reviews so I figured I would give it a shot (pardon the pun) and see for myself.

Mine arrived and I am impressed with the fit and finish / no sling mounts tho.I like the stock much beefier than the Ruger. The rear site is a bit odd but works . I tried a Archangel AA922 Nomad 10/22 mag , the one with the sleve to make it look like a 5.56 mag. It fits right up with NO modifications. And it looks damn #####in too. Just put 30 rounds down range from the back deck and all went well. I am happy!

I took it out and ran about 250 rounds through it. I tried a combination of Thunder bolts, game loads, 555's, and federal bulk without a single problem. I was hitting Mandarin oranges at 35ish yards with the irons no problem. I'm really happy with the RIA 10/22 so far.

Put a big box of Federal through her on the weekend with zero malfunctions. I may get the underfolder from HICAL when they are available. I let a couple ladies at the range shoot it . Lots-o-smiles and probably a few sales too. They said the rifle was ###y. Me not so much.

they are great rifles. I was the first person in canada to buy one LOL. Bought it at Frontier Fire arms last spring. Every thing exept the barrel is interchangable. I like the feel of the heavy stock. I have shot it ALOT and never have problems with it, runs 100% Would rather have it than the Ruger. Have been asked mutiple times to sell it...nope.

wow it worked with the nomad 10/22 mag? I wonder if they fit in the aftermarket stocks as well.
Can you post more when you shoot with the nomad mags, I would love to hear the results?

We have used them in most stock kits, they fit nice. These seem to be tighter all around & seem to eliminate most of the magazine issues we have been having due to sloppy Rugers! They fit all mags, including Nomad, Battledyne etc & internal bits, except the barrels, but we are having a run of 12" threaded barrels being made just for these. Metal trigger groups, metal barrel band, tighter & more consistent actions & these are available! Here is my new favorite, our underfold stocks with the RIA:

good to know the aftermarket stocks work! since finding a 10.22 is hard these days I may have to pick one of these up!
