just as in the description, i just bought this little rifle for 100$. I think it's quite nice. I'm wanting infos on the value and if there is an equivalent and parts available. Everything works as it should be though. The stock seems off, i mean the shape... Barrel is super clean Also wondering if the bolt is similar to a Cooey or is it more similar to a Savage... THANKS CGN!

Can't help you a whole lot, but my MkII (repeater) has the same shape stock except with checkering. Not sure what you mean the shape is off. I can't image the single shot being worth a whole lot more than what you paid. Maybe $125 or a little more.

i mean it's not the right shape. the front part has no radius; it's reversed angled. there is also no checkering at all on the stock. looks more like a 'target' model stock but has the normal sights. i meant it looks like a mix and match rifle...

Bolt looks like that on my Lakefield Mark II, except mine is blued and doesn't have the manual cocking piece. Modern Savage Mark I/IIs descend from the Lakefields, but the design has changed a bit (longer bolt, longer receiver, additional recoil lug, etc. etc.)

thanks for those infos. it's appreciated

I think the backwards sloped forend was a fashion of the time. The Anshutz rifles we shot at Air Cadets had a similar forend and those would have been from around the 1970's. A quick Google Image search of the CIL 180/190 re-branded Anschutz seems shows that the target models came with that style from the factory as well.

wow even better. thanks a lot. serial number is in the 14XX. i'll try to email savage. fingers crossed.

It was my father's, but I haven't shot it. I don't think it has even a box through it.

I'd say yours is just a plain jane version of the MkI.

My bolt doesn't look like yours. Yours looks more like the earlier Cooeys. I have a Cooey 60 repeater that has a similar looking bolt.

MkII bolt...

Yours rifle is the early version of the Mark 1 that used the knob at the end of the bolt to #### to fire and decock them(point in safe direction, hold knob, pull trigger and let knob in) as a safety. The next generation they made had a side safety lever just behind the bolt handle when the bolt was closed. Don't loose the bolt because they are hard to come by. Post #11 is the newer version bolt. They share no parts with Cooey or Anschutz that I am aware of other than maybe Anschutz stock styling.
I've had a couple of these over the years and they shot well. Can't remember what ammo I was using.
