Just bought another Sako

Until just lately, I've only had one Sako. Fairly recently I've managed to acquire my second. Chambered in 270 Win, it once belonged to a friend and former workmate who is now having problems 'seeing the sights':(.

I've owned a dozen or so, today a A1 laminated 223 is pretty sweet and my son hunts with a 75 in 30-06.

I load a 168 gr TSX for him over 58 grains of H4350 for velocity of just under 2900 fps average, fed 210m primer with WW brass.

Yours will shoot, they all do.

Very Nice

:)Thanks. Something along that full length wood style has always been one of my 'must get one of these days' items. What I had in mind was something like this Sako or possibly a Husqvarna but in more of a traditional European caliber such as a 7x57 Mauser. However, knowing the previous owner and some of the history of the rifle, for the time being I thought this will sufice.

Quite a while back, and seeing as one of the more popular calibers I have never had is the 270, I purchased a nice Husqvarna in 270 from Why not? to fill that void. All these years without a 270, :redface:now I have two:p.

I've had 2 85's and the CRF is bogus. Its a pushfeed and by the time it grabs the rim, the cartridge is already in the chamber.

The barrel bands, as designed so I assume there must be a need. Sights, more or less standard for open sights. Flutes:confused:, none.

Johnn, he was remarking on the new 85 that Sealhunter bought, not your .270...:D

So this is a 30-06 Black Bear,...

CRF, Fluted, free floated, etc.

Anyone have one? Experiences? Reloading?

Congrats! I have 2 Sakos and am looking to buy a third in a varmint. The detachable mag and smooth handling are selling points to myself.
