Went for a drive the other night and guess what? Another bruin succumbs to the 350 RM. This is my boy's rifle loaded with 220 gn Speers, did the job perfectly at about 8 feet...........bang-flop, instant dead!!

Sorry about the pic, we forgot the camera and had to take photos the next day in the yard. Not the best poses as the bear was a tad stiff.

Not a bad bear for the Yukon, his skull should go roughly 17", not a monster but a pretty fair Yukon blackie.

Nice color! I'll bet it is at least 18"...
I just missed an M77 in .350 RM the other day... I wasn't a happy camper!

Good stuff . 8 feet ? At that range you could have used an SKS with a bayonet .

Eight feet......dijja aim or shoot from the hip?

Good job, regardless.

Yep Looky, seen him peeking over a sharp little ridge, he saw me and disappeared so I thought I'd walk over and take a little looky see. Apparently he had the same thought and we nearly touched noses on the crest of the ridge. He hesitated and looked very startled at seeing me so close, so I did actually scope him and poked him perfect on the close shoulder point and it exited other side of his spine and back a bit........instant dead. But not before rolling about 75 ft down the bank.........a lot of work for an old fat man and his old fat friend, let me tell you. We both thought we would expire before we got him back to the truck.

Another couple days recuperating and I'll head out and harvest another AND I'm still looking for my monster grizzly..........we'll see.

Nice colour!! Congrats. Now that's a REAL spot and stalk story?!!;)

Yep Spank, just not sure which party was doing which action..........didn't matter, I was the only one with a gun, so I WON !!!

Looky, what exactly are you asking about the significant other? I told her about the bear, no problems there.............

I briefly thought about throwing a headlock on him and getting a good tooth hold on an ear like I used to do with rank horses but then I remembered I wasn't 18 anymore. And besides I doubt I could jump that 8 ft any more and if I did manage to get a good head lock and tooth hold on his ear..............then what, I remembered they aren't all my teeth any more and not nearly as firmly rooted and he might be a little disconcerted when I tried to drag him back to the truck or release him. I also, just in time, remembered that horses don't have claws.......... I never used to think that far ahead but with age has come some thought of consequences and forward thinking. So I enacted plan B and what you see are the results.
