well I got off work this morning at 7 am. I met my wife (she on her way to work) dropped her a latte and a muffin, and headed home. Driving back the hiway I contemplated if I'd go for a quick hunt...

Got home, pulled on the gear for the first time this year and grabbed the gun.
I went to my sweet spot. It was sad, ...not near the water of last year. It was 24C when I got there and 26C when I left. I was quickly reminded of how much I hate warm weather hunting.

I did manage two Canadas and 6 mallards with 2 3/4 shells a and Rem 58 ;)
(this years disposable gun for when dad comes up)

It wasn't an overly enjoyable hunt, I hate hunting in the heat. I like cool weather and the smell of fall... but all in all it was OK for the first day out.

I made a video too, so I'll try and upload it later..

Time for bed now:)

I was sweating like a pig, being eatin' by mosquitos, the ground was steaming, my socks were soaked with sweat inside the waders, garter snakes everywhere,...but yes, 10x better than a day at work:D
