Just got rpal but also divorce

Man, wtf? This is probably the dumbest CFC procedure yet... calling ex's and asking them if a guy should have a gun license. OF COURSE 99.5% of the ex's are gonna be against it, usually just for the hell of it. I sure hope that they do some extensive cross-referenced questioning on those broads before taking their word for it.

Honestly though, if you were gonna cap someone, would you really NEED to apply for a license? Is there a shortage of 'street' guns downtown all of a sudden that people don't know about? And why would you use a registered gun to do it anyway, even if you already had your RPAL? It's much easier and cleaner do to it with an 'anonymous' weapon. People do watch goddamn CSI!

Now, These are the questions that the CFOs should be asking themselves. If they start breaking your balls about it, just ask them the above questions and see what they answer. A license is for people who have no intention of breaking the law in the first place, period.

I got my pal and rpal within 3-4 months of separating from my ex. I told them I didn't know where he was. Didn't slow down the process at all. They didn't even care. Just try not to sound like a nut-job when they call and you should be fine. ;)

Thanks for crushing his hopes! lol
I honestly don't know how ANY gun enthusiast doesn't sound like at least a BIT of a "nut-job" in all honesty! :D

Bah! You'll be fine, don't worry about it-- they worst thing they can do is say no and you just have to go shooting with all your other friends that have guns.

I have a new question. If things didn't go well could the revoke my PAL? I still want to go hunting and target shooting. It would be the s**ts if that was to happen.

She can have your PAL & all your firearms taken away by calling 1-800-731-4000, option 3.

What do you mean, "if things didn't go well"???

Just don't contact her & be good.

Only advice I can give is whatever you do, do it with one rule in mind.

Don't trip the BS meter. Nothing can and will frack you up more than giving the guy/girl on the other end of your application suspicion that your story doesn't add up.

So I just got my rpal today and I was looking at the forms. My divorce should be final this month or next. I have not talked to my ex in about a year and I don't even know where she lives. What should I do? I have bought a gun with in the last year but it was a non rest. My pal is due in 2010 so do they count it from when my ex left or from the divorce finalization?

Am I screwed either way? Any suggestions?

Chances are good that your RPAL wont' be affected, but your bank account will be. I never like to see stories about divorce because they can go so wrong..so fast. Chances are pretty likely that your ex has moved on given your lack of contact over the last year.
