Got my new Remington 700 SPS .270 in the mail today. We threw the scope on and hit the range right away. After a dozen rounds of crappy Winchester ammo, I was beginning to doubt my purchase (6 inch groups). I switched to Federal for a couple groups and then settled on Remington Core-lokt and was happily shooting .81 MOA. in a breeze.

I had a similar experiance this weekend, a purchesed a new Rem 700 VTR in .308, mounted a scope and went to the range. I was on paper in about 10 rounds but was using some Spanish surplus ammo, groups were about 5 inches, I knew that both the rifle and I were capible of a little better than that. I switched to some hand loads that I had developed for another rifle and the groups reduced to a constant 1 inch.

I am very happy with the rifle and look forward to developing ammo for it.

don't try and fool us buddy,...
those groups were obviously shot with a Tikka T3 or a Savage,,,we all know a Rem 700 won't shoot like that...:D..haven't you read anything on the intraweb the last few years?...
