Great thread guys! Goes good with my morning coffee.
One point I would like to add is that since IDPA has at most 18 rounds per stage a CZ Shadow would show its advantage even more in IPSC as a lot more rounds go down range. The sweet S/A pull will come into play more often.
I don't need another gun right now but am seriously considering the tuned CZ Shadow that CRAFM is selling.
Chris 67% of all guns at the IDPA World Shoot last year were Glocks and M&P's for a reason. They have been winning the three pistol divisions at major matches for the past few years. They are light, reliable and offer the shooter a very light constant trigger pull. There were 2 CZ's and 3 Tanfoglios at our World Shoot. Without a 5# minimum trigger pull the striker fired guns have a distinct advantage over DA/SA guns in IDPA.
I suspect the reverse is true in IPSC where the CZ pattern pistol dominates. Why? They are reliable, offer the shooter a very light SA trigger pull while maintaining a DA pull of 5#'s and they have been winning major matches.
All that said, talented shooters win matches. The guns they use are just the tools they use to win. Those of us with less talent don't win major events but we do have the opportunity to play with the same guns as those with talent.
The Glock fan club must be all over themselves when Vogel wins the IPSC World title with a stock $600 Glock 17. He has won just about every thing else with Glocks that don't cost much more. Is it the gun or does the guy have a great deal of talent?
What wins on Sunday sells on Monday.
Take Care

STI Lawman .45acp bought from Sean at Freedom Ventures, single action, cocked and locked, condition one, what ever you want call it, loads of fun, all that matters..........nuff said......!
For what its worth, I acquired a G34 that I plan on doing some trigger work too. Puts me out of IPSC production, but still works for USPSA production, IDPA SSP and well for 3 gun.
I may get a CZ shadow down the road, simply cause so many people talk so highly about them, but for now, I think a G34 with a great trigger and longer sight radius will help.
I already shoot my G17 pretty well, just looking to see if this will improve it.
