Just installed my new barrel in my norinco

Just yesterday I installed my my LRB 18.5" barrel in my Norinco.
With the help of Hungry it was a surprisingly easy job. (I was the muscle he was the brains).
It was definately not anything to be intimidated by. The entire thing took maybe 2-hours, tops. I dont think i would have a problem doing it again on my own. To be honest the hardest part of the job was removing the BS set screw. (had that done before I started)

I now have a bad-ass looking gun. Black military stock, 18.5" barrel, springfield scout mount, vector flash surpressor, smith enterprise hooded site, adjustable gas plug.
I cant wait to shoot it.
So if you want to swap a barrel it is nothing to be intimidated by, with the right tools and a little bit of knowledge and patience just about anyone could do it Thansk again to Hungry for his assistance.

Hey, 1bigrn, don't forget that we also swapped my .30-06 barrel from the M1 Garand into the .308 format. Again, you were the muscle and I was the dead weight holding down the workbench surface! LOL :D

Yes, one (very few of them) of the advantages of living in McSquinty's Ontario province is that I'm here (I'm not shztting ya!) to help you with you M1 or M14 rebarreling project(s). If I'm not helping run a Service or Sniper rifle match, I can fix you up and turn you around in a couple of hours!!

Yeah, I know living in BC or AB or whatever province does not have Lieberal CFO dipsticks may be better, but we are stuck here with Moronto to the South of us. So let's just count WHAT we got (M14 & M1 rebarreling assistance) and stop counting what we don't got (CCW ).

The entire project is really a lot of fun, ain't it, 1bigrn??

Peace be to journey,
Barney

Absolutely ! Having Hungry nearby is worth putting up with McGuinty!
After working with 1bigrn yesterday, today he helped me thru my first bbl swap. I went in the oposite direction from 1bigrn, I swaped my 18.5 inch norinco bbl for a 22 inch Douglas Heavy bbl. And just like 1bigrn said, the worst part was removing the #$%# set screw.

After that (with Hungry's direction) swaping and indexing the bbl was relatively painless :)

Most of the parts for this build came from CGN, with a few parts off ebay.

Thanks again Hungry, your knowlege base is priceless:D
