Just mailed my RPAL application

28 day holding pattern as per Canadian Law - and then 2-3 weeks for processing.

Always nice to see people persuing the license. It should be a mandatory requirement as an adult imho ;)

Once you buy your first restricted - you may find they're a lot like tattoos. Can't stop at just one.
 
Cheers, I fear it will be a little bit longer than the 28 day holding pattern though.

The main reason that I did it was to bring my firearms over from Ireland. No point in them gathering wool there!!!
 
From the time the RCMP received mine it was 85 days until I had it in my hand. Had a PAL for years and this was a new RPAL. All my documentation was correct...it was just a really slow process.

Matt, I am in the same situation. My regular pal expired 10+ years ago. Applied for rpal this year. Mailed august 5th. Approved and issued September 8th. Now I hope canada post delivers quick lol

What in the world do you have in restricted class from ERIE . I ask because I remember many of my grandfather's and uncles rusting away in Central lock up in Dublin .And by your join date welcome aboard .

Lol, it's Eire!!! Anyways, I don't have anything restricted at home, but you can get FN FAL's etc. licensed there. All rifles above .30 Cal, whether bolt action or semi auto are restricted in Ireland. We had pistols from 2005 to 2008 but there was a lot of crime using unlicensed firearms, and the govt had to be seen to do something so refused to issue any more centrefire pistol licenses.

I have a Sako 75 Varmint in 308 and a Tikka T3 Tactical in 223 that I'm going to bring over.
 
IT was ERIE on purpose just not enough E's . Did some schooling in Trim & worked & Lived in Dublin back in the 50's & 60's . Good luck to you my tri-coloured friend

I just got off the phone with them. I was told it is currently 4-6 weeks to get entered into the system even before the process starts.
 
Congrats! Going for my PAL in November.Can't wait till I can buy my first gun,still not sure what to go with though.I really like the tactical look,not into hunting.
Has any one heard anymore on when Canam is getting theT97's in?
