A new shooter attended the range today to sight in his new rifle.
It was sighted in when the scope was installed. He had the scope and rifle back to the supplier but still can't hit the target.
Rifle is a Browning A-Bolt and the Nikon scope has a BDC reticle.
He accepted my offer to bore site the rifle at 25 yards and since the scope and bore were not aligned, the caps were removed from the elevation and windage but were they ever on tight.
He questioned what I was doing and it became obvious he had tried to adjust the scope by turning the caps. He was somewhat evasive when asked if he read the instructions.
With the bore sighting completed he fired one shot high and right. The cross hair was moved to the bullet hole from the POA.
One shot at 100 yards and he was 1/2" high.
But they walk amongst us . . .
