Just ordered a Hatsun 135 .30 caliber

Looking forward to receiving my Hatsun 135 in .30 caliber hopefully sometime next week. I'm a 76 year old center fire shooter and just started adventuring into the world of airguns. Picked up an Umarex Surge .17 here on CGN and enjoying it immensely. I even toyed with dieseling a couple of pellets and one word WHOW! I know it's tough on the O rings so it was only a test run but I'm going to take my chrony to the range and check out the velocity difference. I know one thing, using my basement range and a 3/4" piece of plywood a pellet without the drop of oil in the skirt didn't pierce the plywood but with the drop of oil it easily blasted out the other side and then some.

I will post some pictures of the Hatsun when it arrives.
 
Im interested. What made you decide on this particular rifle? Im lost trying to pick a calibre and brand. Im sure I want to stick with the simplicity of a break barrel, and under $500 all in. But thats all I know for sure

I wanted a big bore but also simplicity. The PCPs looked interesting but buying the gun is only the beginning what with having to buy either a pump or tank for refilling. Some of those big bore PCPs in .45 caliber will develop up to 500 foot pounds of muzzle energy which is amazing.

I Googled Hatsan and it looks like they make a quality product. I will give the Hatsun 135 a try and who knows maybe it will be a stepping stone to the PCPs.

Pick a cal for your intended use. Break barrel under $500?....take a look at Diana or Weihrauch for quality. You'll have to decide if you want a Pal or non-Pal rated AG.
 
The Turkish and Chinese airguns are all over the map for QC. The old English Webleys,RWS/Diana and HW Hans Weirauch are all solid performers.........Harold

Herez a little more detail on what I need:

-PAL rated
-Hunting purposes (ground hog, partridge, rabbit?)
-$500 max all in
-break barrel spring
-minimum .22 cal
-very intrigued by the .30 cal mentioned by OP
 
I've been looking into airguns ( a lot ) lately and a break-barrel is my only choice in the matter.
Seen some vids on the Hatsan 135 which are all pretty impressive...my choice would be the .25cal.
The Carnivore model is nothing less than a work of art with great accuracy and decent FPE for a airgun . Adjustable cheekrest and butt , Turk walnut stock...
I believe that Hatsan also has a 5yr warranty ?
 
Where did you order you 30 cal from? How much $ ? What was your choice of ammo, what is the grain weight. It has about the same energy as my nitro 25 cal by the sounds of it. At just a c hair over 500fps it should have quite the rainbow trajectory, never the less Im very interested.
 
I have pretty good collection, but the 30 cal slot is all cob webs, damn! When I started shooting my 25 cal I started jonesn' for a bigger pill, didnt even know there was 30 cal in true diabolo.
 
According to the reviews I saw, it's running around 470-500 fps with standard 44.75gr JSBs. Standard diabolos now go even higher cal. JSB and Polymags come in .35 now at a whopping 81gr.
 
I got my 135 last week in .177.
Great looking and shoots with a decent report almost like a .22.
I have been using the fiber optic sights for now and my targets have been old aluminum frying pans , so I havn't benched it yet to see how actually accurate it is. Plus it's still not broke -in .
It's heavy , it's got to weigh as much as my M1 Garand so if anybody want to hunt with a 135 you might want to get into some push-ups.
After about 40 or so shots , I was starting to use 2 hands to crank the barrel back...and yes .. I do push-ups everyday ...lol
When that little 8gr pill smacks into those frying pans , it does so with surprising authority and leaving impressive deep dents , which were 30 - 50 yd out . Coconuts will be added to my targets next time out as well as stretching out the distance more .
Yeah , they're abit expensive , but I'm very happy with my 135.
