I was practicing draw and fire 2 rounds today at 15m. Just a snatch draw and point toward the target, no sight picture, pull the trigger twice, and hit the target half the time. The grip was lousy and there was no sight picture , just bang bang, just for speed, not accuracy. Someone asked me later how fast I was doing it and I told them my best was.98 sec for 2 rounds. Nobody believed me. Surely there's lots of guys out there who can do that or even better. Was my timer wrong? Maybe I didn't wake up from last night and I'm still dreaming.

Ick towards the lack of conscious aiming. You may hit 1/2 the time but where is the other shot going? A snatch draw and double tap around 1-2 secs isn't that tough without concealment garments, but it depends on the rig and the gun as well as the shooter.

Sure, with a snatch draw it's possible to get even faster times than that for two shots, but it doesn't count for anything unless you hit the target consistently, preferably in the A zone. I used to get mid to high .6's back when I practiced that draw, and with a .13 split a total of .76 to .85 was easy. But as I said; it was just pointless noise since I was averaging minute-of-refrigerator accuracy.

I was doing this just for fun . I know that uncontrolled speed is useless and the snatch draw is not the best way to go. I'd never try that in a match since I was only hitting the target 6 or 7 times out of ten at 15 yards. My real world time is more like 1.3 first shot and 1.5 or 1.6 second shot. But still, it's fun to try it......
