Just shot my first reloads!

This afternoon I just shot my first reloads. My father and girlfriend were at the range with me. Its a very cool thing to sit down at a press, in silence, or with the background of music, or the game etc, and relax while reloading.

It is a great new way to enjoy the hobby of target shooting, and its addictive as all hell.
 
Nice, and welcome to the world of reloading... It is very satisfactory whether you are shooting paper or game when they are your own rounds.. I have been reloading for almost 30 years and I still love it.
 
I still remember the feeling of shooting my first reloads (for a .30-06). I even had the nerve to do it without a string on the trigger! Lots of fun for sure, and the ability to mix and match loads limited only by your imagination (and some common sense and safety of course) can't be beat! You'll laugh when you see 280 Remington selling for much more than .30-06 or 270 Win, or when you price out a 'premium' box of factory ammo, once you know what the components ACTUALLY cost...
 
Congrats, I still remember my very first reloads and that was 25yrs ago. I have never looked back to factory, I just have a whole lot more reloading equipment! Now! :)
 
Yes, it becomes a lifelong hobby, no question.
I put together my first reloads in 1963.

I cannot recall the last animal I shot with a factory load, other than rimfire.

But I can vividly remember the first animal I shot with my own loaded ammo.
Pretty exciting.

To this day, I still enjoy developing loads and shooting them, first at paper,
later at a Deer, Moose, Elk or what have you in season.

Enjoy your new hobby!! It'll grow on you.
