The H&K P30L LEM V1 is on my "may buy" list, but I have never had one in my hand to see how it feels and how the trigger pull weight and length are.

Please, is anybody in the Toronto - Hamilton or Montreal areas willing to let me check the above? (I'm not asking to actual fire it at the range.)

Thank you!

Have you checked any of your local dealers? If you're in the GTA, you can try Al Flaherty's, Target Sports, Ellwood Epps, or Williams Arms...although the last two may be a bit more of a drive from Toronto...

I checked all of the above plus in Kitchener, Waterloo, Hamilton, Peterborough, Kingston, Montreal.

Wow! Didn't think that it would be such a tough gun to find! Good luck on your trek...if it makes any difference, and it probably wouldn't until you feel one for yourself, the P30 is probably one of the best fitting handguns that I've ever held. I don't own one, but have had the pleasure of shooting one, and I must say, it is a fantastic gun all around...from fit to finish. I know that opinions will differ, but the most "consistent" thing that I've ever heard about the P30 from others is that they are all amazed by how well it fits/feels when firing.

Hope this helps...

Yeah, the V1 is very hard to find if you're wanting to try out the trigger. I really like the V1 as well. Awesome gun. I just made that offer to a couple of local CGN members. I had a CGN member over yesterday so he could handle the gun and see what the trigger is all about.

Much appreciated Toto..thanks for the opportunity. It was very cool to get a chance to handle the firearm and talk guns in general.

OP....the LEM is different for sure...I'm not experienced enough to give a useful review...I'll just say it feels totally different from both the DA/SA's I've tried and not as close to the feel of the striker fired triggers I've tried as I thought it might. It has a very long take-up....I think that might be HK's idea of a safety instead of a heavy first pull. The reset is noticeable but not a "push".

Hope that helps a bit...but like I said, I'm new to this...good luck !

I have the LEM kit on my HK45 and it's awesome. It has a long take up as mentioned, but if the V1 LEM is the light one for the P30L then it's not really an issue since its so light it might as well not be there. Once the slack is gone and you're riding the reset I find you might as well be firing a striker fired pistol, except I prefer it to that. It has a shorter reset than stock, might not be the shortest reset ever but it's pretty good. I've heard of people complaining they get a false reset with the LEM trigger, but I never had that issue.

Those are my opinions on the LEM trigger for the HK45, I assume it's pretty much the same for the P30L, but not having fired one I don't know for sure.

Yeah, that's exactly it. I had a V1 LEM that I sold a couple of weeks ago. You're only compressing the trigger return spring during the first stage so it's very light.
