Just tried out a Lee Auto Prime 2

C'mon guys. JUNK is too strong a word. All of those equipment mentioned work to some extent, perhaps not to your satisfaction, but they will work, right.

The Lee scale took some learning but it works for my son-in-law and my buddy. The Auto-disk has an improved version called the Pro-AutoDisk which I use...no complaints here. The Perfect Powder Measure works and is accurate...my group uses that too.

I like their FCDs and use it for my 4 pistol calibers, well five if you count 38/357 as two.

Maybe I am cheap, maybe I see things differently. But if Lee made junk, they'd have been out of business twenty years ago.

When people bring up the factory crimp die I wonder if they have used both the rifle type AND the pistol. Both have their place, although not always needed I too feel junk is a strong term for them.

The new Lee Breech Lock Challenger is a great press too even if not made of cast iron like the Classics.

Has anybody actually broken a Lee Challenger press? I mean the aluminum press frame itself, not the linkage. The way some cast presses are built you would think they were for taking the bushings out of Kenworth walking beams. . . no wonder they cost so much more. The way I look at it, if I wear out a Lee product, I can still buy two more and wear them out before I've spent as much as with some of the others. I only hope I can do that much shooting in my life!

The most common complaint's from people (who actually owned/used the Lee product) seem to be;

Lee Turret (old style) indexing gear strips
Lee Pro 1000 or Loadmaster priming issues (crushed or missed/upside down)
Lee Challenger (old style) aluminum linkage for lever breaks
Lee Reloader (C frame) main aluminum casting breaks
Perfect Powder Measure leaks powder while throwing charges
Scale is not as easy to set desired weight as other brands

There are certainly other problems and not just with these products, but these are some of the ones that are brought up the most, and I'm sure many people have had them. But there is also a lot of repeating of Internet lore that someone heard from another guys uncles brother. Or the classic, my ###X tool I had 10 years ago broke and I went and bought ###X brand and it worked, but I will assume the other tools I never tried are no good either. I've had Snap On tools fail too.
