Hi Guys, just wondering about peoples experiences and opinons on the Norinco Jw 21 .22 rifle (lever action) I thought it would make a good utility rifle on the farm. Good price, but is it any good or reliable?

Your choice, but personally I'd stay away from that cheap Chinese junk and get a Henry.

It's on the "good buy" list of Norinco products. Link is here; Norinco what not to buy????
Someone must have had a good experience with one, I guess. I don't own one, but I do own a Norinco product or two, so all I can say is be prepared to do some finishing work on the rifle when it first comes outta the box, it's like the Norinco factory ships their guns when they reach 95% completion or something :p For the price though, and as long as you don't mind taking the damn thing apart and finishing it up, you probably can't go wrong :D

I have a used JW-21 I purchased from another member.

When I first got it, I disassembled the gun and flushed out the innards. Lots of small metal chips and shavings left over from the manufacturing process.

The stock also doesn't fit all that well.

Since I got it used, I think I got a good deal. It was as described.

I haven't fired a Henry, but have handled a few. If you're looking for a cheap, new lever, I'd buy the Henry. If lever is not required, look at the Savage .22s.

Just my 2 cents.

Buy an old mossberg .22, they can be found for $100 or so and are well built, accurate, and not made in China........:)
