[/IMG][/IMG]I have the above rifle in 0.22 (marked on buttstock). It has the Israeli Defense Force stamped on the barrel. I've heard there were only a thousand or two made by FN in the 40's. Are they worth much?

There was 2000 made for israel by FN. 1000 of them were shipped to South Africa and 1000 stayed in israel. The only ones available came out of israel as surplus to Canada and some to the US. Not very many were complete, as the bolt had no firing pins etc...
I had the bolt parts duplicated for the un-complete guns I got out of israel.

Wouldn't happen to have a spare front firing pin would you?

I believe the rifle in question was on the EE. I likely would have bought that one too, the price was very reasonable (was it $600 or so?). You must have beat me to it.
They come for sale so rarely it's difficult to get a real sense of their value. The market for trainers is a very narrow one in Canada, you'd likely have a hard time getting more than $1000 here. $500 to $1000 would be about right. If the rifle is all original in excellent condition, which the one on the EE appeared to be, it would most certainly fetch way north of $1000 in collectors circles (US) or on Gunbroker.
Post some pictures already!!!!

Really?????

I have a bolt for one - repeater version, firing pin is broken on it, came from a 'smiths estate.

Unless it's a conversion I've never heard of a WW2 era Mauser based trainer that's a repeater. Except for the MAS45, of course. Interesting.

Single shot, and repeater .22RF Mauser training rifles were produced from 1932 onwards. Recently acquired a single- shot Mauser, quality is exceptional. Expect to pay $800+ for a single shot, another $400 for a repeater.

I have quite a few of the FN Israeli .22 rifles and a few MAS 45's. I have lots of parts for MAS45 .22's.

I specifically meant trainers. Not to be confused with target or sporting Mausers, I have a couple Mauser repeaters myself, but they are target rifles, not trainers. MS420, MS350 & MM410 are NOT trainers.
DSM34 and KKW variants ARE trainers.

As I said, "For the exception of the MAS45 and conversions, I don't believe there to be any WW2 era repeater trainers made." If so, please enlighten me.

Mauser made conceptual blueprints of DSM34 with a stripper clip, but that never made it to the production line. Sure would have been cool if they did.
