I saw K98, Russian Sniper, SVT-40, 91/30, and SKS at my local Canadian Tire in Riverview NB.

Are you talking about the one they had advertised as a "VZ-24 with German markings"? If so, be glad you didn't buy it.

If I was to guess, the German markings where post war firing proofs. Poor pictures and a less than knowledgeable staff can lead to some weird descriptions.

I'm not accusing anybody at Accuracy Plus but the markings were out right fakes. I'll post up a pic after work. If anybody remembers, it had the same fake WaA as the Yugo capture K98k I bought off them a couple years ago.

If it was a g40k I would have bought it even with fake stamps.

Ok. Here's the Yugo I purchased with the fake stamps and a pic of the "German" mark on the VZ-24 they had. I'm thinking the same guy "enhanced" both of these.

I don't think anybody at Accuracy Plus did these markings. It's more likely that someone traded them in like this and a lack of knowledge led to them being advertised as they were.

Buyer beware. If you don't know what to look for or how to recognize a fake, then get a second opinion before spending the bucks. This goes for anything, not just German stuff.
