"Technical drawing Sunday... the Kar. 11 and 31 front sight!
Manufactured by the subcontractors Grisel (NE) and Schaffner (SO), this tightly-toleranced, small and intricate hardened chrome-nickel alloy part required many machining operations!
No real need to comment... the drawing speaks for itself.
Interestingly, one of my armorer colleagues recalled having to machine these himself as an apprenticeship project.
When I asked him how the process was, he stated: "It was pretty hard". How's that for humbleness!
