K11 vs k31

I have both and would have a hard time deciding as well. If more money is important, you would get more for selling the k31
Not that the k11 is not a great rifle, but k31's are more popular since the prices gone through the roof and usually sell much faster. Good luck with your decision, they are both quality rifles that you may miss later.

It's interesting that k31s fetch more, as less k11s were made and the quality and accucy is the same, I guess it's a popularity thing that sets the price

I have both too, but they are my never sell firearms. If u sell one it will be difficult to replace. I know if i ever need money i will sell something else.

Personally I prefer the Schmidt Rubin action over the K31s action. That being said the K31 is more accurate (longer barrel and sight radius) and does have a 100m zero.

K31 is worth more, however the K11 is easier to reload for (which long term might matter to you). Long term we might see the price switch back to the Schmidt Rubins being worth more because as mentioned there is less Schmidt Rubins in existence (as well a bunch were sporterized) and the K31 price raise is based mostly on hype. Once things settle down (they will M1 Garands did the same) the price will stabilize.

Realistically it will also be harder to replace the K11 as well.

Nice! I am hoping that things cool off with the K31 so that I can get mine at a price that will be stable. I will get a K11 as well, but it is further down the list.

The K stands for Karabiner which is carbine in German (just like the K98k for Germany). G stands for Gewehr which is rifle in German

You would have a Gewehr 11, which is in my opinion the best Swiss rifle. Value wise it is the same as the K11. All my points are the same except the sight radius is better on the G11.

It would be a Geweh11, that I have made in 1917, my k31 is a 1943, maby once I can make up my mind I will put one up

Have anything else you can sell now to tie you over?. In tens years time I expect they will be worth more than current prices.

I agree with you completely, ( although ive never had problems with reloading my k11 since its in 308)

The K31 is harder to reload for as you have to keep the ammo within a much tighter tolerance for it to chamber (very tight throats on the ammo). I had a friend who was doing it and he had to trim the cases every reload and seat the bullets to very specific OALs. For the earlier rifles the tolerances aren't as tight and essentially it is just like reloading for a regular rifle.

Any advantage with the clamp on mount over the other type Swiss products mount ?

Anybody else have this removable adjustment for the zero ? Because of the side locks you take it out to go longer range

Sorry for the side track ? So the tighter chamber = better accuracy no?

It's model specific.
Clamp-on mount only works on K31s.
They have the thumb cut where the Clamp-on fits onto.

Swiss Products do make also drill and tap mounts, but receivers are surfaced hardened and that reduces the vale of the rifles.

Older models need the 1911 scope mount model that uses the existing action screw holes with the supplied longer M6 screws.
Older models include M1889, 89/96, 1897 Kadet, 1889/1900 short rifles, Model 1905 Karbine, 96/11, and 1911 and K11.
Doubt very much it can be used on Steyr M93 Swiss Mannlicher Carbine. I don't have one to try.

As for the sight: see F
