K31 muzzle cap?

Anyone ever shoot their K31 with the muzzle cap still on? Will the cap be destroyed? I was curious because I almost did it with my K31 the first time I fired it. The sight picture didn't look right, then I noticed right away that the cap was still on.

Yes I did with a scoped K31. The cap got mangled and I found it about 40 yards down range. The part that held the cap to the front sight was torn appart. It is not something I recommend doing. I don't use a muzzle cap anymore on my scoped K31.
