I am wondering how the price of this rifles is going up.
Two years ago I was keeping for three weeks my K31 in VG condition on EE,in that time no body want to pay for my k31 280$,and today people are asking 500-600$ for a regular k31.

There could be many reasons for this. When I bought my K31 a few months ago. It was described as one of the last batches. Sure enough, with a little help from the internet, I was told that the Swiss arsenal's were dry. As in, no more! Any K31's out there on the Canadian market now are private sales, ie, higher prices.

Them's the brakes. If I where you, I would keep that K31 for your self. Its truly a timeless piece. I'll never sell mine.

There have been two batches of guns that came in:

- Surplus army issue rifles in Good to VG cond. selling in the $250.00 to $350.00 range

- Surplus Police issue rifles in Exc. cond. often with matching bayonets selling in the $500.00 to $600.00 range

Paid $400 for mine earlier this year. Walnut stocked, non-import marked. Felt it was the high end of reasonable at the time but I was looking for something specific. Now I could sell it for much more - especially with the diopter setup.

Make sure you look at the pics on that site before deciding on one of those.

You get what you pay for was never more true.

Well, usually that is true... but in my case, I looked extra close at one of the serial #'s on one of the tags and found out it was a 1933 production!.
What does that mean? Well, it just so happens that there were only 1193 built in that year making it one of the more rare ones. Only paid $260 for it too!

So YES take a very close look at these rifles before purchase!

Are there people that will pay more for earlier ones? Sort of like a 1941 Long Branch?

Good score.

a little over 500.000 were made, from 33-37 they tweaked the k31(hardened steel, receiver etc..from 1937-43 finished model k31. 1944 shortage of quality steel, sub steel was used this year! shouldnt be a problem because the armourers supposedly replaced what had to be replaced on the 44s. normal finished 1945-58 i think58 was the last year. trusting my memory so dont quote me on this info! k31 newb, when you cant get... the price goes up, always been that way!! B2

The k31 wich are seling by Weimajack are awesome, they are listed at 395$ ,I think that are from police in such amazing shape.I keep mine in gunsock to prevent any cabinet kiss with russian cheap whores.

Good score.

The earlier ones had walnut stocks that can be more desirable than the later beech wood. I believe that the walnut was switched over in 1943, however the receivers used a harder steel starting in 1937. I think people may be willing to pay a couple of extra bucks for the walnut offerings as they not only look better, but don't show as much wear as the beech variety.
