Hello all,

Does anyone know what speed and weight of projectile the K31 sights are regulated for?

My big bag o' shiny 7.5 X 55 Swiss brass arrived this week and I want to load up a bunch of rounds with different amounts of powder but the same projectile weight.

Using the projectile the gun was setup for will be a good place to start.

A chronograph to match the speed and voila...should be instant tack driver..Hahaha!

Thanks for any input you may have.

Have you heard the term, "google is your friend"?

GP11 uses a 174grain FMJ BT bullet.

But any bullet in that weight won't be cheap.

GP11 is at a good price at The Shooting Edge and it will shoot as well as anything you can make.

K31 rifles have little to no free bore, reloading for them has it's challenges.

If you insist on reloading, the 150 grn FMJBT from Hornady in bulk works great. 46grns of RL15 behind it, gets it done.

Sticker, I Agree the the GP11 is pretty good stuff. Certainly a lot better than most milsurp ammunition I've used and this last batch is even better than the one previous lot I tried.
I use various 165 - 180 grain bullets in mine with a charge of 48.5 grains of H4831. This isn't a hot load by any means but comes close to the GP11.

This load is safe in a K31 but a little warm for the earlier models.

It will shoot better than the GP11 in any of my rifles and do so consistently.

Sticker is also right about the short throats. Make up a dummy round and check seating depth until you're off the lands.
