K31 with a 50mm scope objective

Any chance you have a spare k31 youd sell me? Or any idea on where to get one?

Good taste in milsurps! There are a couple of K31s on our Equipment Exchange right now, but you will have to qualify and apply before you can gain access.
The K31 has become scarce during the past few months and only a few local gun stores seem to have one or two. None near me unfortunately.:(

You'll need rings that are low enough that the front bell is clear of the back-sight - you'll also be looking at 11mm/ three-eighth rings as used for rimfire rifles. Brands are entirely dependent on how much you want to pay - Leupold and Warne are good - I have both - but some folks like Leapers.

Remember that money spent on good brands is never wasted.

You will need "High" rings to fit most 50mm objective scopes and "Medium" for 40mm objectives on K31.

Excellent thanks for the link.

Any preference with the quick detach vs none detachable?

Will the cheek weld be poor that the leather riser is required? I'm not opposed to one if it will help.

I would prefer the non-detach, those wings most likely will cause grief on some the cases and possibly interfere with ejection. I like to load the mag from the top of receiver, rarely taking the mag out, so I wouldn't clutter that right side of the receiver. K.I.S.

I picked up a set of the Warne high mounts as suggested, they fit but with the initial mock up the objective bell is awfully lose to the rear site. I'd say 1mm or less.

Should I worry? I figure I have 3 options. Different scope, remove the rear sight or just shoot it.
