Finally had some time to get out shooting with the new diopter set I picked up. I had it shooting pretty good with the issue sights, but I find post/notch doesn't give the greatest sight picture. I was working up some loads with Varget and was looking for 2600-2700 fps with 150g Hornady fmj's. Here is the first group I shot with the diopter set just bore sighted.
Next I moved to 200m, fired 2 sighters then adjusted for the last 3 rounds I had left to shoot.
Easily one of the most accurate milsurp I have ever shot. Trigger's are 2 stage and are fantastic. For a shooter, I don't think there is any other milsurp around in this price range in this good of condition that can touch these.
For those of you that don't know what a K31 is, it's a very high quality, extremely accurate, straight pull Swiss military rifle issued from the 30's to the late 50's chambered for the 7.5x55 swiss cartridge. P&S has them from $250 for beech stocked, and $325 for walnut which is a super deal considering the quality and accuracy of these things. Brass is easily formed from .284 brass and it takes standard .308 bullets. TSE also sells GP11 which is swiss issue military ball that is pretty much match grade, lauching a 174g vld bullet at slightly over 2500 fps.
Here are a few pics of mine set up with the diopter.
Here are a few pics of the St. Marie diopter set, a full blown fully adjustable target sight. It clamps on with no permanent alterations to the rifle. I got the Type Piic which also allows you to mount a scope on the base which holds the diopter. If you are interested in purchasing some, board member Diopter is the Canadian distributor for these sights.
