I picked up a k98 from the ee & I am pretty sure( looking for a bore light now) it has a bulge in the barrel in the forward part of the front sight. Now what? It shoots ok(not great but not bad) but that bulge cant be good for accuracy not to mention safety. What are my options? Rebarrel, counterbore?

If you have a bulge in the barrel you should be able to detect it on the outside either visually or by measurement. If you have a bulge it should be removed, usually by cutting the barrel shorter just before the bulge. It is best not to fire a gun with an unremoved bulge as this is now a weak point and can expand and split.
Perhaps you should contact the original seller, they may have a spare barrel they could let you have.

Its not glaringly obvious but you can see it from the outside. I would rather not cut the barrel down or I am going to end up with an almost g33. Or perhaps a tanker k98?

Well - There are more bulged barrels around than people know, or admit. Normally the stresses at the muzzle are relatively low, a small fraction of what they are at the chamber end. An obstruction causes the pressure to spike locally, hence the bulge.
For me, I would have no problems shooting it, as the stresses are low under normal circumstances. If one wanted additional assurance, non destructive inspection for cracks or flaws would be the ticket.
If the rifle is stock military, I'd try to leave it as is. However, if you're not satisfied with the terms of purchase, the seller should be approached.
