K98 barrel wrap

Looking to combat some heat mirage on my 8x scoped K98.

Would it be wise to wrap the forearm/barrel?

back in the day, they had a canvas strap that would go from the front of the action and clip to the front sight. it was about 3"wide.

Have a look at the implementation of the aforementioned 'mirage band' on the Tikka T3 Tactical. Heck you may even be able to buy one aftermarket and adapt it. Otherwise there's always header wrap for that ghetto look.

Ahhh... forgot about the mirage band.

I was going to get some old JNA camo clothing (it's a Yugo K98) and just wrap it... but that old Yugo stuff isn't cheap anymore... so the mirage band is the way to go.
