K98 bolt question

I have a K98 converted in 308, can I exchange the bolt with other K98 in 8mm?

I know when they do the convert job, only rebarrel. The head face is the same.

It may or may not work. You'd have to find a gunsmith or somebody else with headspace gauges and confirm that. While one bolt may fit into another receiver, they weren't really intended to be interchangeable.

I have an Israeli 98k also. I put another bolt in and it worked alright but I was advised that it was a foolish move on my part without having the head space checked before doing so.
