K98 how much is it worth?

I don’t know how to post pics here.. any experts out there willing to take a look at the pics I have? Can send by email or text

I've seen a mint "all matching" with clear scope offered for $32000
Aside from that the price seems to vary indeed from $100 up depending on condition.

OT_man, there's a sticky thread on how to post pictures

I’m no expert but RC are selling for anywhere from 500-800$. A German, all matching in nice condition can fetch 2500$ if it’s in collector condition. Without pictures it’s hard to say but maybe anywhere from $1000-$1500

Thought you guys were kidding about $10k for a Mauser - but then I wasn't even aware that JP Sauer made them. But then: https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/52/1864/german-jp-sauer-1939-147-code-98k-bolt-action-rifle

So unless it was Himmler's personal K98, I think $10K is a joke reference to an EE listing that was up some time ago lol. If I recall, buddy claimed it was BNIB. From 1942.

For what it's worth, I paid about $2k for my 1943 Obendorf Kriegsmodell, all matching except for stock, full Waffenamts - and I consider this top dollar for a rifle I fully intend to shoot vs hanging on a wall.

There are lots of k98k worth in excess of $10k Canadian. But regardless, the one on the EE likely wasn’t haha.

And $2000 for a 43 mauser Oberndorf stock mismatch is a bad price IMHO.
It also shouldn’t be a Kriegsmodell.

I prefer Kriegsmodell 98Ks vs pre/post-war. More historically significant in my mind.

But yes I likely paid too much for mine. She is in excellent condition however...

What do you mean? Most kriegsmodells were barely used and too late to make any difference. I love them and have several, but don’t think they are more significant then 33-44 rifles.

Are you sure you’re using the term properly? Kriegsmodells have no take down disc, no bayonet lug, screwed on bands....
