k98 info

Are you looking for a collectible or a shooter like an unmatched Russian Capture (RC)?

Jean at P&S Militaria has a nice stash of RC K98k rifles and is a good guy to deal with.
 
Many mausers, sadly, have been molested by hillbillys, much like the Ross Line of Rifles, and can be found on the CGN EE for 100-300 + - anything decent and 'era correct' with numbers matching would go for 500 + I would guesstimate
 
for russian mis-matches, 375 I think. Plus shipping and taxes from dealers that is. Not a bad price either, especially when the shipments come in, as there are often some very nice ones. For an all original/not messed with at all, like everyone else said - $500 would be an absolute steal. Every so often East german k98's come onto the market and are a great middle ground. They were made under russian occupation, or unissued Nazi rifles that were refurbished, and are almost universally in VG condition. Almost always all matching and perfect bluing and bores. $400-$500 on average.
 
If you look on www.marstar.ca they have bran new M48 Yogo mausers for sale at $500. Other then a full wood upper hand guard, they look just like a 98k. Check at http://psmilitaria.50megs.com they have cap. russain 98k going for around $375.
They m48 are nice the stocks are a little rough.
Depending on what you want I have seen 98k go for $500. and up. My 1908 brazilian cost $850. all matching with numbered bayonet just about in unfired condition.
