Hello everyone, I have a couple of mausers I bought at SIR a few years back. I don't really know much about them, except they are supposed to be WWII K98, swastikas are center punched. I'll take a couple pics tomorow and post them, I'd like to know more about them. Thanks for looking.

If they are force matched (electropenciled bolt etc), have a section of the stock belt sanded and stamped with a the serial number, they are Russian Capture (RC) rifles.

Generally nice shooters though fetch less money than all matching rifles or east German or Czech refurbs.

I've got one, my favourite shooter. Wish I bought 3 at the time...

Typical entry ..

1939 Code 42 K98k (Karabiner 98)http://www.milsurps.com/content.php...-Rifle-(Mfg-by-Mauser-Werke-AG-Oberndorf-a-N)
(Mfg by Mauser Werke AG, Oberndorf a/N)

Compare yours against those photo montages to determine what you have. Also read article on Russian captures and how to identify them.

Hope that helps .. :)
