Simple question for you CGN friends. How much is a fare price for this scope and mount. Also need to know if it is original. I do not know anything about those never seen one. If someone collects those and knows a thing or two please let me know. Any info would be helpful.

Thank you.

Those repros were also sold down in the States as 1sts, 2nds and 3rds for quality, the seconds and thirds had blemishes, quality issues and alignment problems. They were also priced accordingly down the scale as you went down with quality.

Wow is it worth 550 usd if it is replica? This is what eBay sells it for.

I don't know about worth, but they do cost a lot. Hence why I've never gone that route.

Almost certainly a repro, as an original in that shape would be $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. I don't know more than that.

k98 scope and mount

These were the most difficult to mount.
Do a lot of research on these mount prior to pulling the trigger on them.
The Germans had a very difficult time with these as the mounts screws would loosen up and throw the scope out of alignment.
Best to go with either a high/low turret or single claw mounts!
But hey, what do I know:D

I have a set of single claw mounts and bases available if interested. Just send ma a PM

You can get an original Zielvier for not much more than $550 (maybe even less), especially if you go with a prewar one. Check German Ebay or Egun.de. Lots of prewar scopes on those sites like Hensoldt, Zeiss, Ajack that will work for a project.

Zeiss scopes that are wartime coded blc go for big bucks.

Lot's of people especially from Ukraine say that they found one original in Cosmo and stuff. All Repo production.

Indeed, the buyer needs to do their research before buying. The biggest giveaway on the repro Zielviers is that they won't have Zeiss written on them (they should have it written above 'Jena' and the serial number). Again, as with an collectable militaria, do your research before you buy and save yourself money!!
