K98 sling, am I missing parts?

I'm going through surplusrifle.com's installation instructions for a K98 sling, and I think I'm missing some parts. I have a long leather sling, an extra brass knob dealy, and the end part of the sling. I appear to be missing a sling loop and an adjustable 'keeper'. Am indeed missing something?

It sounds like you have a Yugoslavian type K98 sling that just has the brass knob instead of the whole keeper system. You aren't missing any parts, you just have a different type of K98 sling than the German one depicted on the surplusrifle site. I got one of those when I bought a Yugo refurbed K98 from Marstar, they work fine.

1939 Code 147 JP Sauer K98k (Mfg in 1939 by JP SAUER und SOHN GEWEHRFABRIK, SUHL)
1939 Code 42 Oberndorf K98k (Mfg in 1940 by Mauser Werke AG, Oberndorf a/N)

Click on the links to the extensive photo montages for either and you'll find detailed close-up pics of "all correct" K98k slings and the components. The one on the Code 147 JP Sauer is marked E/63 with "SS" Runes.
