I've often wondered this, how is it that the Mauser K98 has no windage sight adjustment, only elevation, and somehow they remain accurate? I ask because I just bought another stock to replace my cracked one for my Mauser. My question goes to manufacturing; how did they make all stocks and barrels so close within tolerance, that they were sure once you bolted any barrel onto a stock, it will be accurate to whatever the elevation is set to? Is there a torque spec for the mounting bolts for the barrel to the stock to make sure everything is seated properly & the rifle will shoot straight to whatever the elevation is set at? I only use my K98 for a bush gun during deer season and for fun just shooting targets, so a fist size grouping at 100 yards is all I ask.
