Is there anywhere on this planet left where a guy can find an allmatching
K98? Is that to much to ask?

I have 2 RC K98's but come on. Stupid Mausers...... buy one now I have to buy them all! Awesome:runaway:

They are out there but mostly all in private collections of serious collectors. Once and awhile you see them at auction or for sale but you will need some deep pockets. Your best bet is to save up and buy one at a US auction site or retailer and import it via Questar.

Another idea is getting a matching 1941 Port contract K98. These are wartime built K98's built for a Portugese contract by Mauser Oberndorf that are finished very well and you see them with more regularily and substantially cheaper up here in Canuckistan. No difference from a German designated K98 besides a few Port markings on the reciever and stock. I have/had several and they are second to no other K98.

In the meantime, do lots of research, plenty of humped 'matching' examples out there that used to be bolt mismatched rifles so you don't want to get burned. Good luck!

I feel your pain

Ha I know !
I saw a minty K98 with winter trigger guard go for $2600 USD not to long ago.

My dad used to have a sports store in the early 70's and would sell those for peanuts because not many wanted a "Kraut" rifle. He had a barrel full of them,
literally in a barrel and an enfield barrel too. Makes me see red when I think about $400 RC's!

The winter trigger guard is incorrect for the wartime German k98...these were mostly from Czechoslovakian postwar k98 rifles.
