Well I bought this K98 a while ago (beginning of fall). Its in realy nice condition and shoots nice and straight and the bore is nice and shiny as well.
Its mane by CZ but has no dates on it. It was sold to me as an all matching serial number rifle and when I looked it over in the store it had all matching numbers. When I got it home most of the numbers match but not all. The rear sight, bolt release and floor plate dose not match.
I completely striped the bolt and the firing pin has number x'ed out and the rifles number stamped in.
So my question is what do I have (I know its a K98 so please no smart **s answers)
I paid around 400 for it but cant remember exactly.
Here are some picks.

Post war manufacture using some war time parts as shown. Produced from the immediate post war period- early 50s. Mismatch of small parts not uncommon with post war Czech arms when old and new parts are used and nothing to be overly concerned with, IMHO

Clean looking example. Price was right if you like the rifle. Objectively, seems a little on the high side.

I agree with eos it is probably post war or the receiver has been scrubbed.
Some parts are German stamped wartime manufacture.
The stock has some marks and all the metal matches in color.
It's in the average price range and a good example of a K98.
