K98 with markings

How hard is it to find a K98 German Mauser with swastika markings NOT electropenciled out. I would like to find one for my WWII collection but they are all scratched over. I am not concerned with numbers matching or anything.

Any help would be appreciated.

A lot of Russian captures still have in-tact WaA's. Thats your cheapest bet if you dont have any interest in collector value. Just ask the dealer to pick one for you.

yeah im not too concerned with "collector value" as I am just happy that the rifle was there during those important events in history

I agree, just go for an RC K98 that has all the WaffenAmts and markings on it. I think most having a matching barrel and reciever, and then the rest of the parts are mix-matched with electro pensil. Still are a nice rifle, with history, good for the price you pay.

What is an average price one would pay for a matching bolt WW2 K98K? I really have not seen any other then East German re-furb rifles. Are there any out there?

If you go over to milsurps.com and look in the German Knowledge Library, there are LOTS of pics of perfect and matching K98k's. They command a significant premium, but are out there if you are willing to pay market price (think $1500+ for decent ones).

I handled a matching 98k, eagles, light coloured wood, cupped butt, no x's and excellent bore. $350 just 2 years back.
Someone on this board bought another matching original for 500 bucks last year at Ancaster show. I turned both down. They are out there and yes some are around a grand.
