Folks:

My Brother broke down and bought a slightly-better-than-ghastly RC K98k from Milarm. I know many of us are opposed to any "rebuilding", but he's dedicated to deuglifying her a bit.

We're ordering guard screws. As it's a pre-war rifle (1938), we won't be needing a sight hood. We're also hoping to nail down a cleaning rod, but I'm faced with two options - 10.5" and 12".

Which is correct for an early K98k?

Thanks,

Dan

Yeah, as an RC, the stock may not match the year of the reciever. Look at the nut placement for the rod (where you screw the cleaning rod into). If you can see the nut from under the rear band outside the stock...you need a 10.5" rod. If you can only see the nut from inside the stock... 12.5".

PM me with the length you need.... I have about three dozen Mauser rods of mixed lengths and am sure I can help you out. Still have some stuff for you for the museum as well.
Next trip to Edmonchuck .....

I'm looking for a 10.5" rod... Willing to sell one to me?

Cheers! ~Mike
