Saw a rifle on the weekend that was unusual. It was a J.P SAUER S147 marked 1936. The action and bolt were all matching but the floorplate and trigger guard were not(no serial numbers on floorplate but a tiny UN) matching. The stock was bubba'd but looked like the original walnut, flat butt military issue, cut off like a sporter at the forend and rounded off. A real shame. However the barrel was a bull barrel .30 cal marked Schultz and Larsen on the bottom of the barrel a full 28 inches long, no calibre marking anywhere but a .308 round chambers and ejects nicely, .30/06 will not at all. Any of you guys ever seen a barrel like this?
