I've been looking through E-pay for a sight hood. I've seen one that doesn't look quite right to me. Most that I've seen, are perfectly circled at the top. THis one seems to have a small bump at the top. IS this acceptable for a hood or not with regards to historical specs? Anybody wanting to see what I'm talking about, its item #150148412276
 
From my understanding, the ones that are rounded at the top are particular to Steyr production, quite distinctive from the other elongated shape and are quite rare. I think I saw some originals go for $100 a piece recently. The more common shape is the oval shape like the one in the auction. It is hard to tell if the hood at auction is a repro or not from the poor pics though.

I got one from Marstar, evidently czech....and it looks the same...i dont really see any bump.

Doesnt the original german ones have a small lockign screw of some sort?
