K98k sling slot placement?

Anyone else fine the REAR sling slot in the K98 in a inconvenient place? I find when shouldering the rifle that my wrist touches the sling buckle assembly that sticks through the buttstock,. Anyone else find this kind of dumb? they should have had it about 3 inches farther back.

It takes some getting use to but the sling frog and end of the sling that sits in the frog catch actually fits underneath your palm when you are holding the rifle. I usually find the tongue of the sling that comes out of the sling frog is what sits underneath my palm.

Still find it to be in a bad place while shooting.

Jawohl mein kamerad. I too find the sling arrangement an interesting one. But, it does feel comfortable when you are carrying it slung.
